Wet Paint on Tour

Wet Paint is a traveling art show that captures the palpable tension between the MTA and graffiti writers in New York City. When the authorities clean up subway station graffiti by painting over it, they routinely hang a “Wet Paint” sign in the area. The founder and artist PERSUE pulled down hundreds of these signs and sent them to artists around the world, curating each stop in collaboration with WaneCOD. Each artist transforms their sign into a unique collectible piece of street art and graffiti history.
